Digital alarm clocks are far too bright, even when they are dimmable. This is often very annoying for some people, leading to books over displays or unplugged alarm clocks.

Alarm clockWhat we need is an alarm clock that allows the display to be switched off completely, not just dimmed. Perhaps with the ability to re-show with a button push or detection of a hand over the top, with automatic off again after a few seconds. Can someone design one, or know their already one out there. I am sure there is a market for the functionality. We don't all want a night light! in.
